Sportello Matematico per l’Industria Italiana is a project of the
Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo “Mauro Picone” of the Italian National Research Council. It has been funded in 2012 for a starting period of three years by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. Since Mathematics is a key enabling factor for industrial innovation, the mission of Sportello Matematico is to foster contacts between Italian Enterprises and the Italian Applied Mathematics researchers. The team of Sportello Matematico is composed by a group of technology translators with complementary mathematical skills. They act as
an agency that turns its attention to three actors: the Italian Enterprises, the Italian Applied Mathematics Research groups and the young mathematicians. This talk will describe the actions taken by Sportello Matematico towards the above groups and the way the team is pursuing its mission.
