Following the bad casting results (specially about porosity, shrinkage and cold joint) after sampling of the die-casting tool, we decided to make an optimization’s study of the casting system by using MAGMA Frontier in order to solve the quality issues detected. Following the analysis of the optimization we selected the best solution, according to our needs, and we made the modification of the die-casting tool.
After the new sampling we made a tomografy’s study comparing pieces produced before and after modification in order to see the improvements. The results were very satisfactory and after machining we have not found scraps due to porosity issues.
