The design process for modern electronics usually involves numerous design stages. Taking EMC compliance into account earlier on the design flow means that additional costly design iterations can be avoided later on down the line. This paper demonstrates an EMC simulation workflow that can be applied to a wide range of consumer electronic devices, with a wireless router used as an example. Board-level EMC analysis, the effect of the device’s enclosure, cable entry susceptibility, and system-level simulation will all be shown and discussed.
